        Welcome to  Come  off it!   This site is dedicated mainly to debunking BOVINE ESCHATOLOGY - a polite name for bullshit, but other arguments are included to help while away the intervals between one hate session and the next.   

        Benvenuti  in Come off it!  Lo scopo principale del sito è quello di sfatare le balle che siamo costretti ad ascoltare quotidianamente. Per rallegrare gli intervalli tra una mangiata di fegato e l'altra, sono inclusi altri argomenti meno indigesti.

The UNITED KINGDOM: After isolating itself from the rest of the European Community at the end of the last Ice-Age, this island became a nation of shop-keepers with a mania for roving the seven seas colonizing primitive countries. Half way through the 20th century, its ruling-the-waves-days over and with most of its shop-keepers swept away by multi-nationals, the SS Britannia was reluctantly grounded just off the western shores of the EE Sea, leaving her sister ship, the $$ USA, to continue the old traditions.  

 Il REGNO UNITO: un popolo isolano che dopo essersi separato dalla Comunità Europea alla fine dell'ultima era glaciale, si trasformò in una nazione di negozianti con l'hobby di andare in giro per il mondo colonizzando altri paesi. A metà del secolo scorso, con il suo dominio sulle onde giunto ormai al termine ed i suoi negozianti quasi tutti fagocitati dalle multi-nazionali, la nave Britannia, suo malgrado, fu costretta ad arenarsi nelle vicinanze della costa occidentale del Mare del Nord, mentre le sue vecchie tradizioni furono demandate alla nave sorella, la $$ USA.

 ITALY: a land of mirrors and smoke screens  where the shortest distance between two points is hardly ever  a straight line and where  ideally, "All citizens are equal before the law".  However, ideals are for idealists and as in any other country you might care to mention, what really counts is how much you have, consequently some citizens are more equal  than others.                          

 L'ITALIA: un paese di specchi e di cortine fumogene dove la distanza più breve tra due punti è quasi mai  una  linea retta e dove "La legge è uguale per tutti". Sfortunatamente, come in tutti i paesi, in realtà sono i soldi a comandare ed alcune persone sono più uguali di altre....
